Mike Milinkovich

Mike has been the Executive Director of the Eclipse Foundation since 2004. He also has a few other hats as a director of the Open Source Initiative, and a member of the Java Community Process Executive Committee. He is a passionate believer in open source as the best way to innovate and collaborate. He also considers himself to be the Eclipse community's chief cheerleader.

Carlos Guimarães

Carlos Guimarães is currently working as Senior Technologist at ZettaScale Technology. He actively contributes to open-source communities, including Eclipse Zenoh at the capacity of upstream project maintainer. In particular, he is focusing on Zenoh’s lightweight implementation tailored for microcontrollers and embedded devices. Moreover, he has 12+ years of experience and strong background in Telecommunications, Computer Networking, IoT, Robotics, Automotive, and Embedded Systems.

Marc Pous

Marc is currently the balena.io Developer Advocate. He has more than 15 years of experience connecting things to the Internet.

Marc is a co-founder of the IoT Coffe Talk and an IoT platform startup. He is also responsible for managing the IoT communities in Barcelona and Munich, organizing meetups and inviting up-and-coming IoT companies to pitch their products. Furthermore, he is responsible for co-organizing the international event IoT Stars during the MWC at Barcelona and Embedded World at Nuremberg.

He creates IoT products as a hobby, from a connected sofa for a music festival, ATMs for a research project, beer mugs in Munich’s Oktoberfest to Christmas lights that light up when you tweet. His advocacy efforts for the Internet of Things and his stature (6,9 feet) has earned him the nickname IoT Giant.

Frédéric Desbiens

Frédéric Desbiens is managing IoT and Edge Computing programs at the Eclipse Foundation. His job is to help the community innovate by bringing devices and software together. He is a strong supporter of open source. In the past, he worked as a product manager, solutions architect and developer for companies as diverse as Pivotal, Cisco and Oracle. Frédéric holds an MBA in electronic commerce, a BASc in Computer Science and a BEd, all from Université Laval.

Matthias Feurer

Matthias Feurer is Head of Development for IoT Solutions at SOTEC. He holds a university degree in Computer Science and has been working in the IoT field for nearly two decades in a variety of roles, such as developer, project manager, architect and consultant. Together with his team of hardware, firmware, software and AI engineers he is designing and developing solutions for the digital transformation of industries into a sustainable future.

Matthias also collaborates in different research projects targeting e.g. industrial Edge Computing or carbon footprint reduction in the manufacturing industry.

Xinxin Fan

Dr. Xinxin Fan is the Head of Cryptography at IoTeX, a Silicon Valley-based technology platform that empowers the emerging machine economy with innovative combination of blockchain and IoT. He is responsible for directing the company’s strategy and product roadmaps as well as developing the core technologies and IP portfolio.

Before joining IoTeX, he was a senior research engineer of the Security and Privacy Group at Bosch Research Technology Center North America. Dr. Xinxin Fan received his Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Waterloo in 2010. He has published 60+ referred research papers in top-tired journals, conferences and workshops in the areas of cryptography and information security and is an inventor of 17 patent filings for innovative information security and privacy-enhancing technologies.

He is also an IEEE Senior Member, a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) from (ISC)^2 , and a (co-)chair of IEEE P2418.1 and IEEE P2958 standards working groups.

Marta Rybczynska

Marta Rybczynska as network security background, 20 years of experience in Open Source including 15 years in embedded development. She has been working with embedded operating systems like Linux and various real-time ones, system libraries and frameworks up to user interfaces. Her specialties are architecture-specific parts of the Linux kernel.

In the past, Marta served as Vice-President and treasurer for KDE e.V. She has been involved in various Open Source projects, and also contributing kernel related guest articles for LWN.net. In 2021, she founded Syslinbit, an Open Source consulting company. She has experience with presentations on both scientific and free software conferences, including LinuxCon, Open Source Summit, Embedded Linux Conference, Akademy, FOSDEM and FOSS-north. She has been working with Eclipse Foundation as a Technical Program Manager for security since January 2023.
